BOXER, Inc. is an organization that uses the sport of boxing to teach social-emotional learning skills to attain physical fitness and academic achievement. We offer recreational activities for children aged 8 to 18+. The boxing basics and general fitness training will be covered in the curriculum. Through boxing, we offer a nurturing atmosphere for our youth to let out their emotions in healthy and positive ways. We believe the same way we need to workout and practice to improve our physical health, you have to workout and practice mentally to improve your mental health.
The program gives young people access to top-notch coaching and mentoring to assist them in overcoming obstacles in life. We adhere to the fundamentals of the boxing sport, including perseverance, self-control, discipline, and respect for others. Students are taught by experienced coaches about stance, guard, movement, combos, and more. The program provides a place to build self-assurance and a strong work ethic while having a great time.

Dedication and Service
It is incredible how one small idea can grow into something truly special. BOXER, Inc. is rooted in the belief that we all have an inherent responsibility to make a meaningful difference in our community. With a variety of active projects and a large volunteer staff, we harness our skills and resources to successfully achieve our goals:
To cultivate the promise and potential of future leaders encouraging them to adopt healthier lifestyles with physical fitness, healthy eating habits, and smart decision-making to become champions in and out the ring.
First, it functions as a recreational program for NewYork City youth that balances supervised, recreational activity with educational and mentoring services.
A 2014 Research Works survey found that 81% of children who participated in an after-school program said it helped them to become more interested in school, and 87% agreed that after-school programs helped to keep them out of trouble. In New York State, 20% of K-12 youth are responsible for taking care of themselves after school.
BOXER, Inc. is a much-needed solution. It was found by the Afterschool Alliance that of all New York children who are not currently enrolled in after-school, 49% (1,151,361) would be likely to participate if a program were available in their community. Free neighborhood recreational facilities were more common in New York City in the 1970s and 1980s, but many of those establishments have since closed or transformed into for-profit entities whose services have become too cost-prohibitive for residents. Boxer Inc. provides free, high-quality recreational services for New York City youth who would otherwise lack the financial means to utilize such a program.
Finally, BOXER, Inc.’s programming provides constructive activities for otherwise idle youth. Our programming provides much needed after-school care for children who were often unsupervised after school.
What We Believe In
It is so easy to fall into a pattern of apathy as we go through our lives. Our organization was born out of a commitment to stop passing over looking the real issues of society, and deal with them head on. We have set out to aid those who need it most. BOXER, Inc. is here to help, and we believe that change is possible when we put our hearts and minds to it. Our mission is to utilize the sport of boxing to provide a safe and productive environment for youth to build confidence, learn discipline, improve self-esteem, lead healthy lifestyles, and improve cognitive skills for academic achievement.
